Philip C. Osgood

85, a resident of the Rhode Island Veterans Home, formerly of Cranston, RI, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025. He was the beloved husband for 43 years of the late Eleanor A. (Pacifico) Osgood. Born in Glen Cove, NY, he was the son of the late Philip M. and Margaret (Dugan) Osgood.

Phil retired from over 20 years of service with the US Postal Service and as a laboratory clerk for Rhode Island Hospital. He served more than 30 years in the military; active duty in the US Navy, followed by Air Force National Guard and retired from the Army National guard as SFC.

Phil was a longtime parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in Cranston; a member of the American Legion; and member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

Besides his devotion to his family and dedication to the military, Philip was an avid collector and seller of novelties and knick-knacks.

He was the devoted father of Doreen Osgood-Dean (Joseph) of Cranston and the late Philip C. Osgood, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Ryan McWeeney of Binghamton, NY and Donna Cavalier (Ryan) of Clovis NM; loving great-grandfather of Viktor Cavalier; and dear brother of the late James Osgood and Sidney Osgood.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th at 11 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to funeral service.
