Philomena (Petrarca) LaRocca
94, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Cedar Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre, Cranston surrounded by her loving family. Philomena was the beloved wife of the late Michael F. LaRocca. Born in West Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Martha Petrarca.
Philomena worked at the Knightsville We Wash It in Cranston for many years until her retirement. She had a strong passion for cooking and baking, but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Marie L. Finocchio and her husband Ernest of Harrisville, John M. LaRocca, Sr. and his wife Marie of Newport, Ronald F. LaRocca and his wife Catherine, with whom Philomena lived, of Cranston; Six cherished grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also pre-deceased by nine brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on Wednesday in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Boulevard, East Providence, RI 02914.
