Phoba Eulalie (Matombe) Diakabana

64, of Cranston passed away on January 6, 2023.  She was the beloved wife of Joseph N'gwanya Diakabana.

Born in Tshela, Democratic Republic of Congo she was a daughter of the late Matombe Mbungu and Jacqueline (Mbuzi) Matombe.

Mrs. Diakabana was a nursing assistant for Elmwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Berkshire Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center before retiring.  She was also a former teacher in the Congo.

Phoba loved to care for people through cooking or her work.  She loved to dance, sing, garden, collect jewelry and high fashion. She cherished her time spent with family and friends from around the world.

Besides her husband she leaves four children--Huguette Diakabana, Heritier Diakabana, Cedric Diakabana and Béthy Diakabana all of Cranston; her siblings--Adélard Matombe, Jean-Léonard Matombe, Alain Matombe, Papy Matombe, Adrienne Matombe Umba, Mary Marthe Matombe Konde, and Jacqueline Matombe Mbuzi Meya; and three grandchildren, Zahir Miranda-Diakabana, Lana Diakabana and Tiphany Bayard.  She was the mother of the late Aeme Diakabana and sister of the late Richard Matombe.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 21st at 9:00am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary Church, Cranston Street, Cranston.  Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.  VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-8pm and Friday 4-8pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
