Phyllis M. (Croce) Allsop

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Allsop, who passed away on August 6, 2026, at the age of 68.

Phyllis was a devoted wife whose love, kindness, and generous spirit enriched the lives of all who knew her. She embraced life with enthusiasm and found joy in both everyday moments and new adventures.

For more than 20 years, Phyllis dedicated herself to teaching at Johnston High School, where she touched the lives of generations of students. She took great pride in her work as an educator and in the relationships she built with her students and colleagues. Her commitment to teaching reflected the patience, compassion, and generosity that were such an important part of who she was.

Phyllis delighted in sharing meals and wine with family and friends, and she treasured traveling to new places and creating lasting memories along the way. She also found great comfort and creativity in knitting, crafting beautiful gifts that reflected the love she poured into everything she did.

Music was another of Phyllis’s great joys. She was an accomplished pianist and proudly played with her Celtic music group, where her talent and friendship brought happiness to fellow musicians and audiences alike.

A longtime resident of Warwick, Rhode Island, Phyllis will be remembered for her warm heart, welcoming smile, and the genuine care she showed to those around her. Her greatest legacy is the love she shared with her family and the countless lives she touched through her compassion, laughter, and generosity.

Phyllis was the wife of Donald Allsop, daughter of the late Louis and Mary (DeLuca) Croce and sister of Nicholas Croce and his wife Ruth, and the late Deborah (Croce) French. She was the aunt of Jonathan and Malisa Croce and great-aunt of Pippa Croce.

Phyllis’s memory will live on in the hearts of her beloved husband, family, and friends, who will forever cherish the time they shared with her. Though she is no longer with us in person, her spirit will continue to inspire those who loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
