Phyllis P. (Vieweg) Higgins

formally of Cranston passed away Thursday August 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Briarcliffe Gardens, Johnston.  She was the beloved wife of the late John Higgins.

Born in Cranston she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Gray) Vieweg.

Phyllis was a devoted wife and mother to her family.  She enjoyed daily walks, swimming, bowling and gardening.

She was the mother of Michael Higgins of Cranston, Wm. Lee Higgins and his wife Tina of Coventry, Mary Higgins Rokosz and her husband Steven of Merrimac, MA, Ann McDonough and her husband John of Exeter, Kathy Conley and her husband Thomas of Cranston, Det. Jane Fish, Ret. NPPD and her husband Charles of Lincoln and the late John Paul Higgins and her chosen “fifth daughter”, Jane Janson of Silver City, NM.; grandmother of Molly and Sophie Rokosz, John Joseph, Michael and Brian Paul McDonough, Casey Beaudoin and her husband Corey, Natalie, Sydney and Sean Paul Conley, Nicolette, Alexandra and Charles Fish; sister of the late Doris McKnight, Richard, Donald, William and Raymond Vieweg.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Briarcliffe Gardens family. Your love, kindness, care and compassion to our mother and family over the last four years will never be forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10am in St. George Maronite Church, Cranston. Burial will be private.
