Phyllis M. (Palumbo) Knowles

90, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at South County Nursing and Rehabilitation in West Kingstown. Phyllis was the wife of the late Franklin L. Knowles. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Pietro and Filomena (Moretti) Palumbo. Mrs. Knowles was employed as a secretary for Cranston High School West for many years, before retiring.

She is survived by her loving daughter Elaine L. Weygand and her husband Charles of North Kingstown. Phyllis was the mother of the late John W. Knowles, and was the mother-in-law of Carla Knowles of Wakefield. She was the cherished grandmother of Michael J. Keegan and his wife Jessica, Alecia L. Keegan, Ashley L. Knowles, and the late Erica L. Knowles, and the great-grandmother of Jacob, Nicolas, and Anna- Katja Keegan. She is predeceased by five brothers and sisters. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
