Raffaela (Iozzi) Caraccia

94, of Cranston entered into eternal life at home on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Raffaela was born in Providence, R.I. on June 19, 1923. She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale Caraccia.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Michelina (Massa) and Catherine (DeLuca) Iozzi.

Raffaela was employed by many factories in the Niantic Avenue area until retiring in the mid to late ‘70s to care for her husband. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her children, grandchildren and many friends.  She loved being surrounded by her family and friends; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Our beloved Matriarch will be missed by her children, Dennis J. Caraccia (wife Rita) of Lincoln, Patricia A. Fraioli and Karen A. McCormack, both of Cranston.  She was the cherished grandmother of Kristen Fraioli, Keri (James) Drowne, John, Thomas and Benjamin Falvey and Christian Caraccia; dear sister of Mary Spagnoli and Dolores (Vincent) Greco and the late Anthony and Ralph Biccicco and Lena Pastore. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Raffaela’s family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Miriam Hospital, St. Antoine’s Community and Beacon Hospice who provided her with such loving care. We will forever be grateful for all you did to make Raffaela comfortable and happy in her final months.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
