REGINA V. (SANZI) EVANGELISTA
91, of Providence, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Americo M. Evangelista. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Frank V. and Mary O. (Auriema) Sanzi, Sr.
Regina was an optical technician for the former Universal Optical Company of Providence for over forty years before retiring in 1982. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving sons, Michael A. Evangelista of Providence, Daniel J. Evangelista and his wife JoAnn of East Providence, and Robert F. Evangelista and his wife Gale of Providence. Regina was the cherished grandmother of seven and the great-grandmother of three. She was the sister of the late Desiderio Sanzi, John A. Sanzi, Pearl Pelosi, Evelyn Baronet, Frank V. Sanzi, Jr., and Rudolpho Sanzi.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Saturday morning 9-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence, RI 02909-5598.
