90, of Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston. He was the beloved husband of the late Vilma Rose (Senape) Angarella for 63 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Filomena (Lombardi) Angarella.
Richard is survived by his loving sons, Ronald Angarella and his wife Margaret of York, ME, and Steven Angarella and his wife Tracie of Santa Monica, CA; cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Dylan, Michael and William Angarella and Adam Audet; great-grandchildren, Liliana, Kinsley and Bennett. He was the dear brother of Patricia Duguay and the late Vincent, Robert and Joseph Angarella, Vilma Iafallo and Anna Iafrati.
His career in architectural woodworking spanned almost 50 years. He worked in Estimating and Marketing for L. Vaughn Co in Warwick from 1954-1985 and as Executive VP with Modern Industries in Providence from 1985 until retiring in 2002.
Richard’s interests included travel, boating, golf and saltwater fishing. He particularly enjoyed fishing for marlin in Cabo San Lucas.
His funeral services are private for immediate family to be followed by a celebration of life at a future date. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
