77, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at RI Hospital, Providence. He was a devoted husband and father, leaving behind his beloved wife, Deborah (Resendes) DiPietro, and their cherished son, Devin DiPietro. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Julia (Perrotta) DiNofa and stepson of James DiNofa.
Richard dedicated over 33 years of his life to the field of systems engineering, beginning his career at NCR then AT&T after the buyout of NCR. His expertise and commitment to his work earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers alike.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Richard served during the Vietnam War, demonstrating valor and dedication to his country. His military service exemplified his strong sense of duty and patriotism, qualities that were mirrored in other aspects of his life.
Richard was an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular passion for NASCAR racing and the New York Yankees. His enthusiasm for these pastimes brought joy not only to himself but also to those fortunate enough to share in his excitement.
In remembering Richard, we celebrate a life marked by professional accomplishment, unwavering love for his family, and a deep passion for sports. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
