Richard A. Falcone

May 18, 1945 — September 20, 2023

Richard A. Falcone

78, of Scituate, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with brain lymphoma.

Born in Providence, Richard was the son of the late Luigi and Rose (Martufi) Falcone. He was predeceased by his brother, Louis P. Falcone, and sister, Dorothy A. Zambarano, both of whom he loved deeply.

Richard is survived by his longtime partner, Dawn M. Sionni, who faithfully cared for him during his battle with cancer.  He leaves behind a legacy of love and family, including his children and their spouses who also devotedly supported him during his illness, Kristen F. Lariviere (Brian), Andrew J. Couture (Avery), and Brian LaPlante (Jackie), as well as their mothers, Eileen M. Falcone and Carol L. Falcone.  Richard (aka Papa) adored his grandchildren, Jake and Tyler Lariviere and Emma and Jared LaPlante. He loved his cousins, nieces and nephews and their spouses and families. Louie, his Golden Retriever, also brought Richard great joy especially during his illness.

Richard proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He returned to RI to earn his GED and work in construction before starting his own contracting business, Kristen Associates.

In 1982, Richard took the insurance and financial services industry by storm, inspired by the opportunity to help others while securing his own financial freedom. A tireless worker and charismatic speaker, Richard rose to the level of Senior National Sales Director with Primerica Financial Services (formerly A.L. Williams). Based on his success with, and commitment to, the company he was honored as a Primerica Legend.

Richard loved playing baseball and softball with his childhood and lifelong friends, with whom he won many tournaments and championships. He will be inducted into the Rhode Island Softball Hall of Fame later this year. He cherished the decades spent with his dear friends at the Alpine Country Club, Madonna Del Rosario Society, and Almost Heaven hunting camp, and with his New England Patriots tailgate crew.

Richard’s humor was epic, his enthusiasm contagious, and his personality gigantic. He will be sorely missed, but his legacy will live on through the incredible memories he imparted upon everyone.
