Richard A. Fratantuono

77, of Cranston, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, January 24, 2016. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Eva (Lombardo) Fratantuono. Richard was employed with the Cranston School Department from July 1980 until December 2003, running the IT department until his retirement. He also worked for many years at The Outlet Company in Providence and oversaw the installation of their first computer system. He also proudly served in the US Navy. Richard was a devout and proud Catholic and served Communion at St. Mary's for many years.
He is survived by his sister Linda A. Cardillo and her husband Joseph of The Villages, Florida. Richard was pre-deceased by his sister Jean E. Casinelli and brother Alan T. Fratantuono. Richard was the beloved uncle of Gian Cardillo of Cranston and Lisa Casinelli Clough and her husband, Thomas, of Westerly, RI. He was the proud great-Uncle of Katherine Clough Murtaugh and her husband, Patrick, of Boston, MA; and Kelsey, Hannah and Liam Clough of Westerly. He also leaves behind the Giammasi Family, who were family to us all. Richard was a kind, generous and spiritual man and treated many friends as family.
His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 538 Broadway, Providence at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. VISITING HOURS: Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Michael J. Fox Foundation and Lupus Foundation of New England.
