Rita Elaine Garland
89, of Hoffman Ave., Cranston, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Adeline (Ciccone) Garland.
Rita was a gift wrapper at the former Outlet Company in Providence for many years before retiring and was a member of The Regina Coeli Society of St. Mary's Church in Cranston.
She was the dear cousin of Edna Panaggio with whom she lived for the past 18 years and was a beloved and embraced part of Kenneth and Christin Cronan and their four children.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m. Entombment will take place in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are TUESDAY MORNING from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
