Rita (Brunelle) Kayatta

99, of Johnston, formerly of North Providence, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Bliarcliffe Gardens, Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Alphonse J. Kayatta, Sr. Born in Pawtucket; she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Rose A. (Lemire) Brunelle. Rita was a Supervisor for the School Lunch Program for the City of Providence, Gilbert Stewart School for ten years before her retirement. She was a former communicant of St. Anthony Church, North Providence.

She is survived by her loving children, Alphonse J. Kayatta, Jr. and his wife Victoria of Alexandria, VA, Patricia A. Lett of St. Augustine, FL, and the late Kenneth P. Kayatta. Rita was the cherished grandmother of Tara M. Capuano and her husband Thomas of St. John’s FL and the great-grandmother of Ryan T. Capuano and Jack A. Capuano. She was the sister of Rose Veloso of St. Petersburg, FL and the late Alfred Brunelle, Eva Fitzpatrick, and Ted Brunelle.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted.
