of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of David L. Rose. Born in Providence, she was the cherished daughter of George H. Fitzsimmons of Warwick and the late Rose M. (Petreccia) Fitzsimmons.
Rita worked for UPS for the past 27 years; and was a member of Teamsters Local 251.
Besides her husband and father, she was the devoted mother of James M. Murphy and his wife Brianna of Warwick, Jessica L. Murphy and Jacquelyn R. Seddon and her husband Jeremy, all of Cranston and Justin G. Murphy and his wife Rachel of Reston, VA; dear step-mother of Marissa L. and Vanessa M. Rose, both of Scituate; loving grandmother of Cayden, Madelyn and future Baby Seddon; and dear sister of Joseph Fitzsimmons and his wife Stella of Narragansett, Mary C. Maloney and her husband William of Providence; John M. Fitzsimmons and his wife Lori of Cranston and the late Francis J. Fitzsimmons. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her beloved German Shepherd Georgie.
Rita was known for her strength, and was a true inspiration to all who knew her. She lived life to the fullest every day. Her family will always remember her beautiful smile and bright personality.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday, August 29th at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 1493 Cranston St., Cranston at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
