Rita E. (Slater) Wilkins

93, of Smithfield, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at West View Nursing Home, West Warwick. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Charles Slater and Amelia (Walaska) Meglio.

Rita was a packer for Imperial Knife for many years before retiring. A beloved snowbird, Rita cherished her winters spent in Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Rita is survived by her loving daughter, Susan Viveiros of Warwick. She was also a proud grandmother to Corilynn and Scott Viveiros and a devoted great grandmother to Abigail Rennie. Rita was the devoted wife of Edward J. Wilkins, who predeceased her, and later, she married Henry A. McGinity, who also passed away before her.
