Robert Mabbett Briggs

of Narragansett, RI departed this earth on a beautiful September day. 9/4/2016.

Bob was born on November 29, 1944 in Westerly RI to the late L. Norman and Alice (Ledwidge) Briggs. He was predeceased by his brother Norman Briggs.

He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, class of 66 and a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity where he made many wonderful life time friends.  Upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Bob had a distinguished career in Insurance, beginning with Amica and retiring as a principal of The Watson Group in Wethersfield, CT.

In retirement he continued his passion for golf. He was a former member and past president of Wethersfield Country Club in CT and a member of Pincrest Golf Club of Richmond RI. He belonged to the Elks in Wakefield; the Fireman's Club of East Greenwich; and was a life member of The Association of Research and Enlightenment.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his soul mate and wife of 39 years Mary Jane (Rolfe) Briggs; also, his sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and his many friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111Boston Neck Road, (Rt.1A) Narragansett on Saturday, September 17th at 11am.

Anyone wishing to share a fond memory of Bob will be welcomed to do so at the celebration.
