Robert Collelo
79, of Johnston, previously of North Providence, passed away at home on Saturday, February 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 53 years of Barbara (Rotondo) Collelo. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas "Tex" and Jennie (Aquilante) Collelo.
Robert was employed by Sears for 30 years before his retirement. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He spent his retirement along with his wife Barbara caring for their grandchildren teaching them all the virtues of love, respect, faith, and compassion. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Thomas Church and an active volunteer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving daughters, Maria Valente and her spouse Andrea Bond of Riverside, Barbara Grossi and her husband John of Cumberland, and Jennifer Carnevale and her husband Steven of Johnston. He was the grandfather of 6 and step grandfather of 2. He was the brother of the late Pasco D. Collelo.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Providence. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Church Food Pantry, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence, RI 02909.
