Robert D. "Bob" Lawrence

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert D. Lawrence on May 26, 2026 at the age of 87. Bob was born on October 11, 1938 in Massena, NY. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to the many lives he interacted with during his life time. Always willing to help out whenever he could. His humor, compassion, dedication and service were prevalent in all he did. Bob loved the time he spent with his grandkids, watching westerns, horseback riding and boating on Narragansett Bay. He eagerly looked forward to his monthly brunches with his fellow retired postal employees.

Bob spent twenty-two years in the U.S. Army as a Criminal Investigator (CID). He served in Vietnam and was a Bronze Star recipient. Upon his retirement from the Army, he spent another twenty years in the Postal Service as a second career. Starting off as a mail carrier, he worked his way up to manager of the Johnston branch until his second retirement. He was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. His service spanned over thirty-three years aiding both the local boating public and U.S. Coast Guard in various activities and events.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Patricia of over 61 years, his son Chris, his daughter Lisa Harris of Warwick, his grandchildren Calei and Drew, his dog Arizona, his sister Betty Collins of New Jersey and his brother Ted Lawrence of Massena. He was pre-deceased by his mother Mildred (nee Ezard), his father Lloyd, and his brothers Kenneth and Richard all of Massena, NY.

His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd at 10 a.m. at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday, June 2nd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
