Robert M. "Champ" Deal

Robert M. Deal also known as “Champ”, 66, of Providence, RI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Roger Williams Medical Center .

Champ was born January 19, 1960 in Providence, RI. He is the son of the late Clarence Deal and Marie LaRochelle.

Champ was the beloved father of Nicola Deal and Robert Deal, Jr.

Champ leaves behind his ex-wife and mother of his 2 children, Dolores Deal.

Champs legacy will be carried on by his 5 grandchildren, Angelo, Mariah, Xavier, Anelise and Sophie.

Champ also leaves behind brothers, Phil, Hank and Calvin Deal and his sisters, Brenda Bhat, Patty Deal, Kathy Beaudoin and Carol Rodriguez. He was also the brother of the late Joseph Deal, Doug and Clarence Deal.

Champ was known for his outgoing spirit and personality.

Champ was a plater for Rolo Manufacturing before retiring. Champ was very involved in sports being a coach for many years at Mt. Pleasant Little League. He was also a football coach for the Providence Dare Devils. Through these roles, he influenced many young athletes.

Champ loved the outdoors, fishing, cooking, Lionel Richie and Marvin Gaye.

He will be missed dearly.

His funeral and burial will be private.
