73, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loving family on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Robert shared 53 wonderful years of marriage with his high school sweetheart, Patricia (Walsh) Foster. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Robert Foster Sr., and Ruth (Minard) Foster.
Robert began his professional journey at the very start of the banking industry, working as a courier. Through persistent effort and unwavering commitment, he ascended through the ranks to become Senior Vice President at several prominent banking firms.
Beyond his career, Robert was an avid sports fan, including the NY Yankees and other teams. In his youth, he played a variety of sports including football, baseball, basketball, and golf and relished days spent fishing.
Robert was a devoted Jehovah's Witness. He remained active within his congregation and cherished the time spent with his peers. Even after relocating to Rhode Island seven years ago from New York, he maintained these treasured connections and embraced new friendships in his community.
Besides his wife Patricia, Robert is survived by his loving children, Kenneth Foster and his wife Jenna of NY, Daniel Foster and his wife Laura of Ny, and David Foster and his wife Jennifer of Johnston. He was the cherished grandfather of Maddie, Ramona, Colton, and Addison Foster. Brother of William Foster and his wife Tamara of Narragansett, Sheryl Scully and her husband Patrick of NY, and predeceased by his brother Gerald Foster, and his sister-in-law Ellen Foster. Robert is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life honoring Robert will take place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave, Cranston, RI 02910. Burial is kindly omitted.
