Robert J. "RJ" Garrin, II

32 years old, of Cranston, passed away on December 6, 2017 unexpectedly at home.

RJ was born on September 12, 1985 in Providence to Pamela Fontaine and Robert Garrin. He worked as a HVAC/R technician for several years. RJ was attending school to obtain his Journeyman Refrigeration License and was very passionate about his trade and enjoyed being a mentor.

RJ is survived by his wife Kristy Garrin (Bernardo) and his cherished daughter Maniah Garrin, his favorite sister and brother In-law Leah and Adam Brackett and his beloved mother Pamela Fontaine and step father Robert Fontaine, as well as his father Robert Garrin and we can’t forget his sweet dog El Jefe. He is also survived by his loving Grandparents, Jo-Ann and Roy Capps, Frank and Helen Lavin, the late Earl and Elizabeth Garrin, and Muriel Lavin.  Father In-law Miguel Bernardo and mother in-law Ligia Bernardo and Ester Bernardo-Tuirok.

RJ leaves behind his incredible aunts and uncles Michelle Teixeira, Keith Lavin, Gerrie Baxter, Jodi Sink, Frank Lavin III, Chris Lavin, Nancy and John Silva, Marilyn Renfree, Irene Fasano and Sheila and Joseph Quinlan and the late Jackie Moskiou.  His Nephew/ Niece Cameron and Cassidy Colbert, and sister-in-law Nicole Bernardo and Selena Bernardo were special to him. He also leaves his adored cousins Tiana Teixeira, David Sink, Keith Lavin Jr, Jenn and Rob and Taylor Sukys, John and Brandon Silva, Stacy and Frankie Moskiou, Braya Quinlan as well as Aubrey Parmentier.

Kristy and RJ met at the age of 12 and it was “Love at First Sight”. After 20 years of dating he married his soulmate and best friend in Hawaii on April 18, 2016.  Kristy is the love of his life. They had a bond that could not be broken. His passing is just temporary until they meet again.

Maniah was born on December 27, 2005 and she changed his world. His love for her was unconditional and she made his life complete. He always encouraged and inspired her to achieve her fullest potential.

RJ was not just an ordinary man, he had the ability to brighten up any room with his contagious smile. His hilarious and truthful sense of humor was one of his best qualities. He would have wanted you to live your life to the fullest and cherish your loved ones as he did.

RJ was passionate about his family and friends. He considered many of his friends as extended family. Honor RJ by treasuring all the time you shared with him by keeping his memory alive.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 4 PM to 7 PM, with a celebration of life beginning at 7 PM in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11:00 am.
