Robert M. O'Neil

77, of Millbury, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Izzo) O’Neil for 54 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Meehan) O’Neil. Robert graduated from LaSalle Academy and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College. He enjoyed a long and successful career as a Senior Marketing Representative for Texaco, Inc., later serving as Vice President for several retail oil companies throughout New England. A veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, he served during peacetime and rose to the rank of Captain before his honorable discharge.

Above all, Robert’s greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. A devoted husband, father, and Papa, he cherished time with his family. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who loved snacking on chocolate chip cookies, enjoying an ice-cold Pepsi, and listening to the music of Bob Dylan. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus (Third Degree), the New England Association of Power Engineers, and the Associates of the RI Troopers Association.

In addition to his wife Linda, Robert is survived by his loving children, James O’Neil and his wife Regine of West Roxbury, MA, Matthew O’Neil of Millbury, MA, and Daniel O’Neil and his wife Melissa of East Greenwich, RI. He was the cherished Papa of Gavin, Ryan, and Nathaniel O’Neil. He is also survived by his brother, John O’Neil and his wife Elinor of North Providence, and his sister, Mary Jo Rook of East Providence.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, May 21, at 11:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday morning from 9:00-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Robert’s memory to support organ donation initiatives, helping others to live.
