ROBERT M. THACKER, SR
82, of Coventry, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband for 53 years of Martha A. (DiRobbio) Thacker. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Albert E. and Loretta (Baxter) Thacker.
Mr. Thacker worked for the City of Providence Department of Planning & Development for 34 years retiring in 1991 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a 1948 graduate of LaSalle Academy and a 1952 graduate of Providence College.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Patricia A. Amaral and her husband Stephen of Swansea, MA and Dr. Robert M. Thacker and his wife Lalune of West Greenwich; loving grandfather of Julia and Thomas Thacker; and dear brother of the late Albert, James and John Thacker.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in S.S. John and Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
