Robert E. Trafford, Ret. PPD

78, of Coventry, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Kent Hospital in Warwick.  He was the former husband of the late Olga (Moskaluk) Trafford.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Harold and Catherine (McLaughlin) Trafford.

Robert was a retired Providence Police Officer and then President of S.A.S. Security, Inc. until his retirement.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1955-1962.  He was a member of the R.I. National Guard as well as the Knights of Columbus Cranston Council.  Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting and trips to the casino.  He also loved his morning breakfasts with his brothers at Denny’s Restaurant.  On weekends he would spend quality time with his son Craig going to lunch and movies together.  He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, bragging about them to everyone.  He loved people and would sit and talk with anyone as if he knew them his entire life.

He is survived by his loving children, Cathy Pacitto and her husband Anthony of Johnston, Mary Chapman and her husband Daniel of Johnston, Lance Trafford and his wife Edith of Ft. Myers, FL, Scott Trafford of Warwick, Karen Pereira of Warwick, Craig Trafford of Johnston, Becky Klein and her husband Michael of Johnston, Brittney DeJesus of Coventry; 14 cherished grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; dear brothers Harold Trafford and his wife Jacqueline of Coventry, George Trafford of West Warwick and Edward Trafford and his wife Suzanne of West Warwick.  He also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saints John and Paul Church, Coventry.  Burial with Military Honors will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.  VISITING HOURS are Thursday 3 - 6 p.m.
