ROCCO B. RUGGIANO, SR

79, a lifelong Johnston resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Kitty Atkins Home Health Hospice, Goldsboro, NC. He was the beloved husband of the late Norma A. (Calcagni) Ruggiano. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Pasquale and Maggie (Riccitelli) Ruggiano. Mr. Ruggiano was an appliance technician and the owner of the former R&R Appliance Service in Johnston for forty years before his retirement. He was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. Rocco was a drummer for the "Nomads" and a member of The Federation of Musicians.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Cheryl M. Jeffris of Goldsboro, NC and Carol A. Turner of Houston, TX. Rocco was the father of the late Rocco B. Ruggiano, Jr. He was the cherished grandfather of Rocky Melvin, Brianna Melvin, Stephanie Taldone, and the late Jesse James Melvin. Rocco was the great-grandfather of Jesse James Crews. He was the brother of Pasco Ruggiano of TN, Octavia Soave of Cranston, and the late Ralph Ruggiano.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
