Roger Pelli

92, of Saunderstown, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Regina C. (Duda) Pelli. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Alexander and Oliva (Moretti) Pelli.

Roger was a US Navy Veteran serving in World War II. After serving his country, he became a guidance counselor for Providence Public Schools for many years before retiring. Roger was a very active member of St. Mary’s Parish in Cranston. He was a lector, Eucharistic minister, and confirmation teacher for many years.

He is survived by his loving children, Dr. Roger T. Pelli and his wife Lynn of Presque Isle, ME, Sandra O. Romano and her husband John of West Kingston, Linda A. Darzio and her husband Richard of Cranston, Stanley A. Pelli, Esq. and his wife Dr. Ann-Christine Duhaime of Charlestown, MA, Alan R. Pelli and his wife Wendy of Coventry, and Melissa M. Pickett and her husband Dr. Brian Pickett of Richmond. Roger was the cherished grandfather of eleven and the great-grandfather of nine. He was the brother of the late Frank Pelli, Melina Petrucci, Anthony Pelli and John Pelli.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on THURSDAY MORNING from 9:00 – 10:00 am.
