Rose M. (Saccoccia) Benintende

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rose who was a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. 79, of Cranston, who passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home, Cranston. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Benintende. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Emily (Ricci) Saccoccia. Rose was a hairstylist, opening three hair salons, Capri Beauty, Mr. & Mrs. Fredricks and Janine Chante`. She was a makeup artist for over 20 years in RI and CA. During the late 60s, Rose was instrumental in changing the law regarding the ability for both men and women to have their hair styled in salons together. The family would like to thank HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care and Cedar Crest Nursing Home for their time and dedication in taking care of Rose.

Rose was the devoted mother of the late Janine Benintende. She leaves behind her sister and caretaker Joan Tullie and her husband Kevin of Warwick, and her two brothers, Edward Saccoccia and his wife Ann of Naples, FL, and Pasquale A. Saccoccia and his wife Lynn of Naples, FL. Cherished godmother of Emily Rose Tullie of Warwick. She also leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Nov 4th, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Cranston. There will be a receiving line from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at St. Mary Church. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
