Ryan Joseph Colgan

aged 40, passed away tragically and unexpectedly on January 25, 2026, in Portsmouth, NH. Born in Warwick, RI, Ryan resided in Cranston his entire life. He received his degree as a Registered Nurse, after graduating from CCRI School of Nursing.

Ryan's life was marked by a profound love for the outdoors and physical activities. He was an avid mountain climber, hiker, and weightlifter. His passion for nature was equaled only by his love for his family, with whom he enjoyed weekly dinners and memorable vacations. He was a wonderful fun loving, playful Uncle to his nieces and nephews and enjoyed being in their company! Ryan also cherished his time with friends, whether it was playing video games in his meticulously designed man cave or exploring the great outdoors. He achieved his goal of climbing all the mountain ranges in the white mountains.

Ryan is survived by his mother, Michelle Colgan Larney; stepfather, John Larney; brother, Ross J. Colgan and his son Cooper; and brother, Reis J. Colgan, his wife Brittany, and their children Zoe, Aveleine, and Isaac. He also leaves behind many beloved aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Colgan, and his grandparents, Queenie & Joseph Colgan and James & Nancy Ann Pezzullo.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 9:45 AM at Immaculate Conception Church. The Nardolillo Funeral Home in Cranston, RI, is assisting the family during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the NAMI, an organization that was important to Ryan. He will remain forever in our hearts.
