Salvatore Ciano

90, of Cranston, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 30, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. (Porter) Ciano. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Ciano. Mr. Ciano was a plumber for the Cranston School Department for many years until his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Navy and proudly served in WWII earning the Victory Medal and Asiatio-Pacific Theatre Ribbon and American Theatre Ribbon; he was also a member of the Cranston Athletic Club. Salvatore is survived by his loving children, Joseph Ciano and his wife Beverly of Cranston, Salvatore Ciano and his wife Janet of Cranston and Thomas Ciano of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of three and great-grandfather of three. He was the brother of Raymond Ciano of Cranston, Louise Cavallaro Erickson of Lincoln and the late Philomena DeSimone, Mary Miele, Frank Ciano, Celia Checrallah and Sue Petricig. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Cranston. Burial with military honors will take place in St Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m.
