of North Providence, passed away peacefully in Warren, RI on Sunday, July 2nd. Sal was a hard working family man who honorably served his country in the US Navy and was a proud member of the Greatest Generation. He joins his late parents Peter and Rose (Picillo) Minicucci, and late siblings Peter Minicucci and Evelyn Erhman, while rejoining his beloved soulmate, his late wife Ann Minicucci. He leaves three children Hon.Steven A. Minicucci, along with his wife Christina, Carol A. Maher, along with her husband Richard, Jr., and Joan M. Amodei (her late spouse William). The jewels of his life were the grandchildren he leaves behind, Kevin R. Maher, Mark R. Maher, Lisa A. Smith, Christopher S. Minicucci, Zachary S. Minicucci, Victoria A. Minicucci and his great-granddaughter Alice Smith.
Sal leaves a legacy of service to others without fanfare or self-aggrandizement.
He became a trusted mentor to so many friends within Rhode Island’s Dominican-American Community many of whom he employed and came to love during his twenty-eight years as shop foreman of the Providence Chain Company. He took great pleasure in helping so many immigrant-families get their start in pursuing the American Dream, as he felt so blessed and fortunate himself to have realized that dream with his own family.
He soon will be teeing-off on the greenest fairways he could ever imagine as we recall fondly his love for all of his many golf partners throughout the years and his beloved Charlie Brown Golf League. Thank you to all his many caregivers during his final years, most especially the wonderfully talented and caring staff at Grace Barker Nursing Home in Warren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippen Orchard Road, Cranston, RI at 10 a.m. on Thursday July 6, 2017. Burial with military honors will be at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston, RI.
