Sandra M. (Miele) Sivo

of Narragansett passed away peacefully at South County Nursing and Rehabilitation on January 16, 2026, with her loving husband by her side. Sandra was the adored wife of Carl S. Sivo. She was the loving mother of Michelle L. Dumas (Tordoff) and her partner Robert D. Rossi and the grandmother to Matthew R. and Mark E. Dumas to whom she was truly devoted. Sandra will be greatly missed by her stepdaughters Gina M. Cozza and Joy S. Bianco and their families.

Sandra leaves behind her brothers Pasquale A. Miele Jr. and his wife Janet and Dr. Paul A. Miele and his wife Edith as well as eight nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Pasquale A. Miele, Sr. and Mary J. Miele (Silva) as well as her beloved sister MaryJayne Andreozzi (Miele).

Sandra first met Carl while in the eighth grade at St. Theresa School in Providence. They lost touch when Carl left for LaSalle Academy and Sandra remained to graduate from St. Theresa High School in 1961. They would reconnect fifty years later and enjoy over eighteen years of marriage.

A graduate of Salve Regina College, Sandra received a Bachelor of Science degree and enjoyed a successful career in Clinical Laboratory Medicine. She spent thirty-one of those years at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in both supervisory and managerial roles. Sandra completed her career at East Side Laboratories. Throughout her career, Sandra was proud to have mentored many students within the field.

Family was the foundation of Sandra’s life. She shared an exceptional bond with her daughter. They knew each other’s thoughts simultaneously and were in constant contact every day. Sandra was the center of her grandsons’ lives and shared a unique relationship with both. They adored their Nonni and she never missed the opportunity to celebrate an event or milestone.

Together with her husband, Sandra loved to travel with Florida and Italy being treasured destinations. They loved horse racing and trips to Saratoga, The Florida Derby, the Breeders Cup, and the Kentucky Derby are some of the highlights enjoyed.

No description of Sandra would be complete without mentioning how her smile lit up every room. Sandra never passed up an opportunity to share herself with not just her family and friends but everyone she encountered. She was truly a bright, beautiful light.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory - SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Friday from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett, RI 02882.
