Sarkis Dermooshegian
87, of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Cedar Crest Nursing Centre in Cranston surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 49 years of Marie S. (Satchaklian) Dermooshegian. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Hagop and Elmast (Melkonian) Dermooshegian.
Sarkis was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years retiring in 1987; and was a WW-II U.S. Army veteran.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of James S. Dermooshegian of Whitinsville, MA and Elsa R. Iannacci and her husband David of Johnston; and loving grandfather of Ashley, Jared and Ava.
His Funeral Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Thursday, March 5th at 11 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence. Burial with military honors at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, RI 02908.
