Scott "Cappy" McKay

53, of Plymouth, passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest on Friday, December 16, 2022. Born in New Bedford, MA he was the loving son of Nancy A. (Bouley) Andrade. He is also survived by his daughter Amber L. (McKay) Gaspar and her husband David; cherished grandchildren Wyatt, Maven and Donovan Gaspar; siblings, Steven and Kim McKay; nephews Kevin Gaspar and Sam McKay. He also leaves his beloved girlfriend Inna Rozhinskaya.

Cappy was a charismatic person who lit up any room he walked into. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he was always surrounded by smiles and laughter. Cappy was an avid sports fan who founded the H.O.S.S. softball league in the early 90’s.

He recently celebrated his 2-year sobriety. Cappy was spending his free time volunteering at a recovery center in Plymouth. He was sponsoring fellow addicts in their journey and was a pillar of light in the recovery community. Cappy will be deeply missed by many.

Family will be holding a public Celebration of Life, on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at United Fishermen Club, 639 Orchard Street, New Bedford, MA from 5:00 – 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to: Plymouth Recovery Center, 5 Main Street Extension, Plymouth, MA 02360 or online at: plymouthrecoverycenter.org.
