formerly of Donelson St., Providence, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was the wife of the late Albert Avedissian. Born in Syria, a daughter of the late Barkev and Altoon (DerArsenian) Chamalian, she moved to France in 1924 before coming to Providence in 1961.
Seranouche was a dress maker and co-owner with her husband of the former Rosemary & Albert Alteration Shop on Angell Street in Providence for 30 years before retiring in 1989. She was the sister of the late George and Jean Chamalian; aunt of Jean-Marc Chamalian and his wife Paula of Wells, ME, Claude Chamalian and his companion Tania Rocha of East Providence and Nicole DiCostanzo of Cranston; great-aunt of Luke Chamalian and Alana DiCostanzo; sister-in-law of Rose Chamalian of East Providence; and also survived by her caregiver Donna Simmons of Providence and her dear friend Helen Sharp of Boston.
Her funeral was private.
