Shake (Shapshapian) Arslanian

of Providence, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Garbis Arslanian.  Born in Cairo, Egypt, the daughter of the late Vahan and Satenik (Khorozian) Shapshapian, she moved to Yerevan, Armenia in 1947 coming to the U.S. in 1980 settling in Providence.

Shake was the caretaker and dedicated member of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church for many years before retiring.

She was the devoted mother of Haroutune “Arthur” Arslanian and his wife Alice of Cranston and the late Mkrtich Arslanian and his wife Angela of Cranston; dear sister of Sonia Arslanian of Cranston and the late Hovannes “John” Shapshapian; loving grandmother of five and loving great-grandmother of ten.

VISITING HOURS are MONDAY, April 24th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in STS. SAHAG & MESROB ARMENIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH, Providence, with a FUNERAL SERVICE on TUESDAY, April 25th at 11 a.m., followed by burial at North Burial Ground, Providence.
