Shawn P. Donnelly

Shawn Patrick Donnelly, 60, of Woonsocket passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026. He was the son of the late David Donnelly and Elaine (Capozzoli) DiCenzo and born on the Norfolk VA Naval Base.

Shawn was an extremely quick-witted, funny guy who was an avid reader of Military History with boundless knowledge of every battle in WW2. As serious a man Shawn was, he was also a big fan of the Three Stooges and could recite the entire dialogue from the movie Airplane. He was also a very passionate Boston Bruins (especially Cam Neely), Red Sox and L.A. Rams fan. None of us knew why the Rams, but we didn’t hold it against him.

Above all of these things, Shawn was a fiercely dedicated father to his daughter, Caitlin Donnelly. He loved her above all else. Shawn was a devoted son to his mother, Elaine, his father David Donnelly and his Step-Mom Joan Donnelly. Shawn leaves behind his very sorrowful siblings, his brothers David DiCenzo and Christopher DiCenzo as well as his sister Jennifer Ciccone and her husband Andrew. Many nieces and nephews who adored Shawn as well as his close die-hard friends will miss him greatly.

Calling hours for Shawn will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2026, from 2:00pm- 4:00pm at Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave, Cranston, R.I.
