Stephen M. Hague

61, of Cranston, Rhode Island, passed away on November 23, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with a debilitating illness.

Steve was born on January 4, 1964, in Annapolis, Maryland, to loving parents E. Stephen Hague and the late Corrinne (Sahagian) Hague. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Corrinne. He is survived by his father, E. Stephen Hague of Smithfield; his cherished children, Jared Hague and Morgan Hague, both of Cranston; and his sisters, Karen DValentine (Franklin, MA) and Lisa Hague (Long Beach, CA).

Steve lived a rich and varied life filled with curiosity, achievement, religion and quiet humor. As a boy he was active in Webelos, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, eventually serving as an assistant scoutmaster and achieving status as a Life Scout. He played youth softball, basketball and practiced karate. Confirmed in the Episcopal church, he also enjoyed attending Armenian church feasts and services. Everything Steve engaged in he also excelled in, and he carried that same discipline and enthusiasm into adulthood.

He earned both a Bachelor of Arts (Computer Systems) and a Master of Science (Industrial Engineering Technology) degrees from Rhode Island College. Following a stint at Almacs, where many lifelong friendships started, Steve worked alongside his father at Todino Engineering Sales representing state of the art electronic and semiconductor companies. Steve progressed upward in his career, working directly for semiconductor firms, including being hand-picked for a high-performance team at EMC2. Steve ventured into purchasing (Dir of Purchasing at Titleist) and human resources (HR manager at Citizens). Most recently he marked a proud 15-year career at Citizens Bank headquarters, rising to VP, Sr Team Manager of Procurement. He genuinely loved his work and the many colleagues who became lifelong friends.

A gifted communicator despite his understated manner, Steve was a longtime member of Toastmasters, where he honed his talent for writing and delivering speeches. He was invariably the first to raise a glass with a perfectly timed, heartfelt toast. His sharp negotiating skills led him to teach community classes in negotiations and even run a side business helping family and friends get the best deal on cars.

Steve was also a published children’s author. His delightful series, The Dorky Dad, featured a well-meaning but hilariously embarrassing father—who bore a striking resemblance to Steve himself—and a longsuffering kid-detective daughter who looked remarkably like his own Morgan.

Those fortunate enough to know him cherished his dry, Steven Wright–esque wit and his unwavering loyalty as a friend and family member. An ardent New England sports fan, Steve rarely missed a Patriots game, and followed sports heroes like Larry Byrd, Bobby Orr and Tom Brady.

With all that Steve accomplished in life, no accomplishment could top his unending love and pride in his two children Jared and Morgan.

A private funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd. A Celebration of Life is being planned for Steve on or around his birthday (January 4, 2026). Friends and family should check back here for details regarding time and location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Steve’s memory may be made to Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909.

Steve will be deeply missed, but his humor, kindness, love, loyalty, and the countless lives he touched will forever live on in our hearts.
