Tan Ping (Lo) Fung

81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, surrounded by the love of the family to whom she devoted her life. Born in Hoi Ping, China to the late Kwok Kee Lo and the late Loi Chung (Hui) Lo, she later lived in Hong Kong where she met and married her beloved husband of 47 years, the late Kwong Wen Fung.

They came to Rhode Island in 1969 where together they owned and operated Kong Wen Restaurant in Cranston for over 35 years before retiring. What began as a family business became much more. Through decades of hard work, long days, familiar faces, and countless conversations, they became beloved members of the Cranston community. She genuinely enjoyed people and people were drawn to her warmth, humility and quiet kindness.

For Tan Ping, caring for others was simply how she loved. She made sure her family was cared for, always well fed, and surrounded by love. Her life was one of quiet devotion – to her husband, her loving children, especially her daughter and “partner” Arlene, and the community that became her home.

She is survived by her son, Allan Fung and his wife Barbara Ann of Cranston; her daughter, Anna Fung-Panciera and her husband Richard of Johnston; her daughter Arlene Fung of Cranston; her brother, Harry Lee and his wife Barbara of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to VISITING HOURS on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, Rhode Island. Family members will also be receiving visitors on Wednesday morning from 9- 10AM followed by a procession and graveside service in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care.
