83, of Plainfield Street, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Cranston, surrounded by her loving family. Thelma was the wife of the late Henry Guglielmo, for 45 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Guido and Emily (Ricci) Iacobbo.
Mrs. Guglielmo was a lifelong Providence resident, a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, and member of the singing group The Three Del’s. She was also a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church, Providence. While raising her children, she worked at her husband’s business, Henry’s Bakery, in East Providence for many years. After her husband passed away, she worked as a cashier at Anthony’s Market in Providence and later worked as a cashier and bagger at Stop & Shop in Cranston, until her illness. Thelma loved working and interacting with people. Throughout the years, she enjoyed the companionship and love of her pet poodles. Thelma loved being with her family at game nights, birthdays, holidays, and other family gatherings while making the best pizza. She was always the life of the party. Thelma enjoyed the occasional trips to Foxwoods and Twin River with her sisters-in-law Carol Iacobbo and Gloria D’Alfonso. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was the cherished mother of four children: Cheryl Ferreira and her husband Larry of Fall River, Steven Guglielmo and his wife Linda of Cranston, Judy Petracca and her husband John also of Cranston, and David Guglielmo of Johnston. Thelma leaves behind ten grandchildren: Lawrence and Lindsey Ferreira, Joseph and Jaclyn Guglielmo, Jillian Pagano, Jennifer and Janine Petracca, Alexis, Talia and Zachary Guglielmo. She is also survived by her brother Guido "Guy" Iacobbo and his wife Carol of Cranston and was the sister of the late Raymond Iacobbo.
Her funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday 5:00-8:00 p.m.
