Thomas E. "Ted" Douglas

83, of Jensen Beach, FL, formerly of Mahopac, NY passed away on August 20, 2024 at his summer residence in Narragansett, RI surrounded by his loving family. For 62 years he was the beloved husband of Judith (D’Alessandro) Douglas. 

Born in Yonkers, NY he was a son of the late John B. and Margaret (Metz) Douglas.

Ted attended Iona University and worked as an electrical engineer with Perillo Associates in Thornwood, NY before retiring to Florida. He was a willing teacher of the electrical trade to his sons-in-law although his pupils enjoyed mixed success under his tutelage. 

An avid golfer, he was a member of the Mahopac Golf Club.

Besides his wife, Ted leaves his two daughters, Jeneen Vitkus and her husband John and Andrea Rosenquest and her husband Ken; seven grandchildren, John, Ryan, Carah, Kylie, Laila, Addison and Elle; and his great-granddaughter, Teddi Rose. He was the brother of the late Maureen Costas and Brit Douglas and the patriarch of a big extended family, with members too numerous to mention, but all of whom loved and respected him dearly. For those who may have needed a little more “firm guidance,” he was also a force to be reckoned with. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday August 27, 2024 at 10am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
