Thomas W. Rotondo, Sr.

87, of Johnston, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Michelina (Capaldi) Rotondo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Agrippino and Anna (Fina) Rotondo. Tommy was a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music, and was a very well-known professional musician establishing his own band The Tom Rotondo Orchestra. He was an accomplished pianist and  trumpet player. He played with the RI Philharmonic Orchestra, and with various bands, and was also the Director of Music for the Johnston School Department. Tommy enjoyed spending time in Florida, was an avid golfer and a  member of the RI Chapter, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital for 25 years . He was loved by his family and friends, and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

Tommy was the loving father of the late: Christine M. Rotondo. He is survived by his loving children: Thomas Rotondo, Jr and his wife Karen and Raffaele F. Rotondo and his wife Penny; his cherished grandchildren: Thomas III and Erica; great grandchildren: Thomas IV, Giavanna and Ella.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 4-7 pm in the Nardolillo Funeral Home 1278 Park Ave., Cranston . His funeral from the funeral home, will be Wednesday morning, at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place , Memphis, TN 38105.
