95, of Cranston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Known for her kind and gentle spirit, her wonderful cooking, her love of gardening, and above all, her devotion to her family. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her loving belated husband, Carmine Sciacca, her two sons, Elvio Sciacca with wife Lisa, Frank Sciacca and Suzanne, and her loving grandchildren Monica McPhail, Jessica L. Sciacca, Michael Sciacca and Angelica Sciacca. She received much joy from the birth of her beautiful great granddaughter, Jordan.
She is preceded in death by her mother Ernestina, father Guiseppe, sisters Evelina, Elia, Lina, her brother, Amelio and survived by brothers Luigi and Anthony.
Born in Roccamonfina, Italy on May 24, 1930, Tommasina grew up in a close-knit community where family, faith, and hard work were the foundation of daily life. She carried those values with her when she came to the United States, where she built a home filled with warmth, laughter, tradition and love. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, whether it was homemade pasta, fresh bread or holiday feasts, she poured love into every dish she made. Cooking wasn’t just about food, it was about bringing people together, keeping traditions alive, and showing her family how much, she cared. But her greatest joy came from her family. She loved to sit with them, listen, talk and simply be in their presence. Her gentle smile, her sweet words and her unconditional love made her the center of family life-a true matriarch who embodied grace, patience and love.
Her love will live on in the meals shared, the gardens tendered, the family gatherings that will forever echo with her warmth. As the saying goes, “Le mani di una madre sono fatte di tenerezza”- a mother’s hands are made of tenderness. And for her grandchildren and great grandchild, one truth will always remain: “L’amore di una nonna non finisce mai”- a grandmother’s love never ends.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Rocco’s Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Friday from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
