March 10, 1933 — October 3, 2014

Valentino 'Val' Faraone

Right up until his death at age 81, Val lived a full and active life. Growing up in Silver Lake with his parents Giselda and Francesco Faraone, and his brother Frank, Val enjoyed music and sports. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife Pat and they went on many trips together.

He was an accomplished musician playing both the accordion and the organ. While in the Army during the Korean War, he was in a band and entertained his fellow soldiers in Italy, for which he received a commendation. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf, especially with his brother Frank. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Patriots, Celtics and NY Yankees.

He worked for the State of RI for over 30 years. Nothing made him happier than being with his family, especially for the holidays.
His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember him as being a loving, caring, gentle person with an absolutely contagious smile.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 8th at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: RI Meals on Wheels, 70 Bath St., Providence, RI 02908.
