Vicki R. Fox Mowry

passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 28, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on January 28, 1945, in Providence, Rhode Island, Vicki was the cherished daughter of the late Vito and Mary (Previte) Sczerbinski. A life-long resident of Cranston, Vicki spent her final years in Johnston living near her newest granddaughter.

A graduate from Cranston High School East and an alumna of the Community College of Rhode Island, Vicki earned an associate degree in nursing, which laid the foundation for her rewarding career in healthcare. Vicki's career began as a registered nurse at Rhode Island Hospital, where she displayed tremendous compassion and dedication working on various floors and in various units. She ended her nursing career as a private hospice care provider. Commitment to service later found expression when she worked and eventually retired as a teacher's assistant for the Cranston School Department, where she continued to touch the lives of children and their families.

Outside of her professional life, Vicki was an avid birdwatcher. She and her husband, Kenneth F. Mowry, who predeceased her, maintained a range of feeders that attracted a spectacular array of birds to their yard. They also enjoyed flower gardening together and were proud of the floral variety that bloomed throughout each season. She and Kenny loved to travel together, visiting many states during the course of their marriage. Their adventures together were filled with unforgettable memories that she held dear to her heart. Vicki was also a devoted member of the "Wednesday Night Girls," a friend group that represented camaraderie and friendship that spanned many decades of her life. At the center of everything was her love for her family. She enjoyed any time spent with her children and grandchildren, from big family parties to quiet dinners. Her skill in the kitchen will be remembered by her family as they strive to replicate the many wonderful dishes for which she was known.

Vicki is survived by her sons Donald A. Fox and his wife Chrissy, of Burrillville, Anthony G. Fox and his wife Robin, of West Warwick, and Tommy John Fox and his wife Carla, of Johnston, who all carry forth her legacy of love for family. She will also be deeply missed by her sister Helen DiMente and her brothers Joseph, Peter, and Paul Sczerbinski. The light and legacy of Vicki's life will shine on through her grandchildren Andrea, Claudia, Hannah, Sean, Caroline, Ellie, Douglas, Norah, and Amelia, who were a source of endless pride and joy for her.

Vicki was the sister of the late Vito Sczerbinski, Jr. and Mary Ann Waters.
