82, of Stonington, CT, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014.
Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Emilio Jackvony and the late Rose (Trillo) Jackvony.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gaetano "Guy" Maiorano; two sons and their wives, Joseph and Julie Maiorano of San Diego, CA, Guy and Loretta Maiorano of Masons Island, CT ; two daughters and their husbands, Leslie (Maiorano) and Mark Taylor of North Stonington, CT and Lori (Maiorano) and Michael Crutchley of North Stonington, CT; as well as ten grandchildren: Christopher and Stephanie Maiorano of San Diego, CA; Gino, Tristan, and Julian Maiorano of Mason's Island, CT; Britton, Colin, and Samuel Taylor of North Stonington, CT; and Sophia Crutchley of North Stonington, CT. Vilma was pre-deceased by grandson Ethan Taylor in 2001.
Vilma was originally from Cranston, RI. She and her family moved to East Lyme, Connecticut where they lived for many years. In the late 1980's Guy and Vilma enjoyed an early retirement to Gleneagles in Delray Beach, FL where they loved golfing and travel. For the last 16 years, Vilma and Guy lived in Stonington, CT where she cooked family dinners and spent time surrounded by her loved ones.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St. Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are THURSDAY MORNING from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
