Vincent J. Maddalena, 96, of Millstone Lane, Middleboro, MA, died peacefully at home Monday, December 18, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Vincent was born, married and raised his family in Providence, RI. He and his wife, the late Eleanor Maddalena (Pistocco), “Ellie”, enjoyed 70 beautiful years of marriage.
Vincent had 3 sisters, Phyllis Fanara and Marguerite Caruolo of Warwick and the late Angelina DeRobbio, and 4 late brothers, Nicholas, Carmino, Joseph and Alfred.
Vincent was an accomplished metalsmith and worked in hospitality. He was a WWII veteran and later president of his Navy Seabees battalion.
Vincent enjoyed opera, gardening, Italian cooking and entertaining. He savored many summers at the family cottage down in Jamestown.
A devoted father and father-in-law to Maryangela and Paul Ouellette of Middleboro and Joseph and Allene Maddelena of Brockton, he and Ellie moved to Brockton in the late 70s to be close to their children. Their family grew to 3 adoring grandchildren, Michelle Ouellette, Megan Ouellette and Gina Maddelena, and 3 great grandchildren, Vincent, Walter and Libby.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday in St. Mark's Church, Garden Court, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Friday MORNING 9-10 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
