Violanda Viola Salvagna

86, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at North Bay Manor in Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Domenico Salvagna. Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Arcangela (Capirichio) Ruggieri. Viola was employed as a bookkeeper at the former Local Finance Corporation for many years, until her retirement. She was a member of the Manton Seniors Bowling League and Melody Hills Golf Course.

Viola was the sister of Frank Ruggieri of Cranston, Mary Nauman of Smithfield, Helen Tedino of Greenville, and the late Pasco "Pat" Ruggieri, Rose Bouchard, and Teresa DeCristofaro. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS are Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, Rhode Island Regional Office, 20 Hemingway Drive, East Providence, RI 02915.
