Walter J. Brown, Sr

85, of Narragansett, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Kane) Brown for 61 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late William and Edna (Howard) Brown. Mr. Brown was the director of purchasing for Heublein for many years; he was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Besides his wife Catherine, he is survived by his loving children, Maureen Brown of TN and Walter Brown, Jr. and his wife Donna of TN; he was the cherished grandfather of Kevin and Michele Brown, Eric Brown and Jaclyn Brown; a brother of David Brown of NH and the late Howard Brown, Virginia Miller, Stephen Brown and Benjamin Brown. He was also very close to his in-laws, Walter Kane and his wife Ruth, John Kane and his wife Diane, Patricia Papineau, and the late Helen Coauette and William Kane. His funeral will be held on Friday, at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME- SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road (Rt.1A), Narragansett, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett. Burial with military honors will be held in St. Francis Cemetery, 114 High Street, Wakefield.
