53, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. She was the beloved wife for 26 years of Leo W. DeRouin, Jr. Born in Providence, Wanda was the devoted daughter of Angelo and Marie E. (Napolillo) Marchetti of Cranston.
Wanda was an ESL Teacher with the Cranston Public Schools at Hugh B. Bain Middle School and Park View Middle School. She graduated with a BA from RI College in 1991 and received her M.Ed. from Providence College in 1997. She had a passion for music and expressed it as a soloist. She had the voice of an Angel. She was a member of the Rays of Sunshine musical group for forty years and was an advocate for many organizations dedicated to causes for children, cancer care and research and the rescue and protection of animals.
Besides her husband and parents, Wanda was the devoted and loving mother of Christopher L. DeRouin and Nicole M. DeRouin; and dear sister of Michael A. Marchetti and his wife Susan of Johnston and Matthew A. Marchetti and his wife Michele of Cranston. She is survived by her beloved grandmother, M. Louise Marchetti (age 99) of Cranston, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was blessed to have two wonderful and beloved godmothers, Patina Marge Lucier and Patina Anne Paolo. She was also a devoted aunt and godmother to three nieces, three nephews and ten godchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 12th at 11 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 791 Potters Ave., Providence, followed by burial at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
